Hi
I hope I have the right area. I was scratching around on the military air 200mhz band when I came across a transmission in Russian or Ukraine. Its consistent at all times and I've received it for the last three days. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this at all? The signal does tend to drift a bit in frequency.

Looks like you may be receiving signals from UFO-11. It's certainly possible that one or more warring parties
have discovered the ease of using these sats, just as pirates in other regions have been doing for years. My only
pause is how strong your received signals is, unless you are using a dedicated mil-uhf sat antenna.

Thanks for the link. I think you may be right.

Although, looking a bit further into the Gonets satellites, it seams some of there orbits basically go right over the top of my location. What I'm hearing is probably Russian or Ukraine cb or similar bands being relayed through the Gonet system of satellites.

I think the UFO sats. have the uplink/input about 50 or 60 mhz up. So if they have a CB band in the low 300mhz range, that would be possible, but most of the UHF CB bands I've heard of are in the 400'smhz range at least in the West (ie, NA/Europe).

IIRC the Gonets constellation is a store&forward only system, ie text messages... (GMSK bursts)
I would be very surprised by speech presence on this system !

Greetings to all! I am a free Satcom operator from Ukraine. You are right, UFO 10 has several main operating frequencies - 262.325 and 263.425. Operators from Ukraine and Russia work. Equipment often portable stations Zastone m7, also mobile Motorola and Wouxun. Homemade spiral antennas for 9-15 turns, or a yagi cross. Or half-wave on a magnet automobile. There are about 200 active users in total. There is also UFO 2 over South Africa, 256.950. There are many modifications of automobile and port stations on our telegram channels

I spoke ufo11, not ufo10, sorry.
My antenna:

Those satellites has a very big footprint and high signal strength. I can hear those 256.950 transmissions and also Italians on 261Mhz and Brazilians on 253, 255 and 265MHz using a 400MHz yagi pointing west and from a 155MHz vertical. I decode their NXDN transmissions on 265Mhz just fine.
