Simulcast C (Chandler) is down. Its traffic is now on Site 102, which I have as being Simulcast E but don't know if this is an official name for it. This could be a new Simulcast C or possibly a temporary transition configuration. Perhaps someone else knows the answer.

Control frequencies are:

772.35625 - current control channel
772.10625 - alternate
770.35625 - alternate
770.10625 - alternate

Voice/Info Frequencies are:

769.10625 - Info
769.35625
769.60625
769.85625
770.60625
770.85625
771.10625
771.35625
771.60625
771.85625
772.60625
772.85625

This site only has one neighbor: Simulcast F, which also carries a portion of Chandler's traffic.

From the perspective of Simulcast F, Simulcast C is shown as a down neighbor and Simulcast E appears.

Time to reprogram your scanners.

Good find! I'll be updating my scanners tonight. Last time I listend to C was Sunday night and it was still up.

Site 102 was used for Simulcast E in the west valley long ago. When simulcast G was brought up for Peoria, all the old simulcast E transmitters were moved to Simulcast G and E was shut down. I'm guessing they are just reusing the old site number.

Time will tell if this is a temporary site, or if this is the beginning of the new 700mhz Simulcast C. All the docs I have seen show them keeping the name Simulcast C after it is upgraded to TDMA capable and moved to 700mhz.

There is a permanent license for these freqs at multiple transmitter sites, so I think it is a good bet that these are our new permanent Simulcast C frequencies.

WQSH547 (PHOENIX, CITY OF) FCC Callsign Details

Currently not all transmitters are online. Based on the signal strength from my house, I'm thinking that the 911 S. Hamilton (Pecos & Hamilton) in Chandler is currently the only transmitter online.

Cellphone, in the past the control channel for Simulcast C rotated between the Chandler (Hamilton) site and the South Mountain site (on different frequencies). I have never heard the other locations in use.

Nothing fixed. Radios are dynamically assigned when in an area that can be serviced better by the other site.

Sent from my campfire using smoke signals.

I'll have to include the control channels and see if anything pops up - I'm just outside of Tempe in Chandler.

Edit - And sure enough. Within the first 5 minutes I got a hit on a Tempe CC.

All I'm getting are Chandler PD and Chandler City Services. I haven't heard any other agencies yet.
