my city F D is horrible they are a VOL. FD and they do not hav any training they let my aunt's house burn down a few weeks ago and the reason is they do not have any training i want to do something about it what should i do???

Form a Citizens Action Group and confront the city officials and the fire department. The citizens should speakup concerning the personnel no being trained. First responders should be trained. In some states the First Responders must be certified as EMT.

that is a good idea but i have only one problem i am only 17 and i don't think any one would help b/c no one realy cares bout this town

My best friend was a first responder for his towns VFD at the age of 17 while still in high school. Anything is possible! If you want to change things, do what you can now...volunteer around the station when it is manned and just ask a ton of questions from the people that are there. You'll pick up valuable information in the process. Bigger cities have a program called Fire Explorers. Basically like the boy scouts but for Law Enforcement and Fire. You might see what kinda of information you can get on it around Wichita Falls or other places.. Just a thought!

I was actually in the Law Enforcement Explorers when I was in high school. That's when I thought I was going to school for a degree in LE, but my ways have changed for now. But I did learn a lot from being in the explorers. And it looks good on a resume when you're first starting out.
