• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules.     If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I won a bid on ebay , hasn't shown up yet , but I am new to the programing , but have some searching , and seems that most a accessories on ebay are aftermarket chinez stuff .
and did a few search's here and my search words do not seem to be getting too much in good results .
So looking for accessories [ want to try one of the throat mics - hands free , I have heard there are poor audio ] & programing , it is coming with some connectors , but seems the terms were not matching with what my search's came up with .
So some suggestions / links would be helpful , oh ya , VHF , ham bands , are you folks using as scanner also ?

Could you clarify , analog , I did not think these were analog , and red bottons ?
Just went to look , ya they had 3 red bottons accross the top .

They are analog in that they do not transmit APCO P25 digital voice... You want an ASTRO Saber (blue buttons) if you need P25.

Not really true, the accessories are still avalible in limited quanities from Motorola and their dealers. There are plenty of sellers on here and Ebay that have accessories also. The parts are limited to what is on hand at Motorola and some dealers still have parts. The Batboard has plenty of resources for what you need. There are plenty of ways to get them programmed by shops or members here on on that board.

The Saber is a great analog radio for ham or PS use . They are very durable, the downside is they arent narroband compliant.

Well it should up , and they programed it to a bunch of the local repeater frequencies I asked for but a couple of them , they made a mistake and are .005 off frequency .
It came with the connector that mounts on radio for cable , kind of like a small din plug , so looking to get 2 repeater frequencies corrected ?
Any leads to someone in / around Mpls. / St. Paul ?
