Sac City TRS Narcotics

For the past few days, i've been listening to talkgroup 688 (Narcotics 2). It has been pretty active the past 3 days, I think its the same special assignment. Both last night and this afternoon one of them said they were switching to the other primary channel (or last night they said "alternate channel")

Does anyone know what other channels they use? Do they switch to the County system?

I'm monitoring all 3 Narcotics TG's...or should be..

edit: The person who said they were switching, just got back on Narc 2 and asked if anything had changed...so it seems like they aren't all monitoring the same TG...

Well, i just found out their alternate communication was Nextel. That was my guess, but they just said it over the air. Answered my question pretty good.

Yeah, sometimes I think they work with State guys who don't have the TRS radios. I remember they were doing a rolling Code5 on a vehicle, and some were on a conventional and some were on the TRS and they were having problems all getting to one or the other. You will ALWAYS hear traffic on the Narc channels, as they are used extensively during surveillences.

Yeah, they've been following this same guy everywhere for at least the past 3 (coming up on 4) days. Lots of rolling code 5 activity.

Just heard the Nextel "beep beep" in the backround, thought it was mine....one of the guys needs another 800mhz battery so hes going back to the van to grab some from the charger. Very interesting to listen to, hope they get this guy soon...
