In most lists of talkgroup IDs, the Sacramento Couny Sheriff Airport detail shows as 8336 Sheriff A5 Airport. The traffic I get is more like the Records deparment. Anyone know what the airport talkgroup ID is?

Thanks!

Sacramento County

The Airport Used to be on Channel 5 (8336) and records used to be on Channel 10.About 2 years ago The county Changed the airport to 8368 and records to 8336 Ch 5. A new Change Has Been Made Last week. The Sheriff Dept Split the south area to two channels.Rancho Cordova (district 5) stayed on Channel 3(8272) and Elk Grove and South Sacramento County (District 6) went to Channel 4 (8304).This only happens during the busy times.Usually After Midnight the Sheriff goes to one channel operations to Channel 1 (8208).About 8 or 9 am they go to two Channels and then when things get busy they go to 4 channels.
When there is a situation that originates on a dispatch channel (such as a pursuit or barracaded subject) The dispatcher will leave the tactical on the dispatch and take the patrol units to an alternative channel.Usually North and east go to Channel 11(9232)and the south go to 12(9264). The Sheriff split up talkgroup numbers and the last six are CH11-9232,ch12-9264,Ch13-9296,Ch14-9328,Ch15-9360,Ch-16-9392.
When an event takes place at Arco Arena(The Kings) then the units there use Channel 15(9360).

I hope this helps.

Now, D-5 (newly incorporated Rancho Codova & the rest of what was previously D-5) and D-7 (City of Elk Grove) are both on Channel 4. D-6 (Central) and D-8 (South) are on Channel 3. As above, this is only during the busy times of the day.

I currently live and work in Sacto, and am working very hard on Sac County frequencies. I'll have F&G, State Parks, Sac City, West Sac, Sac County, Folsom, Roseville PD, Placer CO SO, Yolo Co SO, and Fire for most of that as well. I'll work on putting it into a spreadsheet for easy import (or I can leave it as an ARC250 .mem file), and if anyone wants I can either put it on my website, put a link in here, or email it. If there's anything you want me to work on, let me know.

Does anyone know the freqs for 3 agencies:

1)Cal Expo PD (I believe they have their own dispatch, but sometimes assist on SSD and SPD calls).

2)UPRR Police (Union Pacific Rail). Specifically along the tracks next to the East Main Drain Canal that runs north from downtown area, and the tracks alongside Roseville Rd. I work in both areas, and would like to back them up should the need arise (although I don't recall ever seeing them doing law enforcement-not to diss on them).

3)CSUS PD-I know they are also dispatched by SPD as Adam units (I think that's the right ID), but I don't know what the schedule for SPD dispatching is, and I know they used to have their own dispatcher, although I don't know anymore.

Any assistance would be appreciated. I searched for Cal Expo and UPRR both here and Google, nothing. Tried CSUS & FSP a week or so ago, nothing as well. Thanks.

PS-Ben96Cal: I know I've read posts debating the need for repeater locations to be posted, so I don't know how people feel about the info being up. I know where 2 of them are. One is downtown on a County bldg and the other is along the north edge of the County near Elverta (that's as specific as I'll get for now). I saw a list somewhere of the rest, but don't know where it went.

If you are familier with MTX8000 portable radios you can program those as a Sac County scanner. very simple to use after you get the codeplug setup.

What does this have to do with the topic???

It's good to hear about the changes going on up there. I used to live there but moved. I still make it up there about once a year and like to keep up with what's going on.

UPRR Police have radios in their vehicles for Sac PD and County but have there own dispatch and they do everything over the phone. I used to do security down on Richards Blvd. and worked the rail yard there and talk to the UPRR PD almost every day. They even had one of our radios because we did security at the yard and we could call each other if we needed (PD responded VERY slow down there)

As for Cal Expo (state owned) they also operate on the CHP frequencies, mainly while the fair is going on but also throughout the year. They only have a few officers and when the fair rolls around all the cops you see working it are CHP. It Used to be State Police until they merged.

I've been able to find the Cal Expo (and listen to them as well-they do have their own freqs). I know all the off-duty cops in Sacto like to work the State Fair, as it's commonly acknowledged by a lot of us.

UPRR has remained a mystery until now. I guess if they're using phones, I'm not going to sweat it anymore. I've yet to hear a single UPRR guy come up on a City or County channel, but someday. Thanks for the info.

Back in the SP days, they had a very active police department operating out of the Roseville Yard. Since the UP has taken over, it seems that they've cut the personnel by about half and one rarely hears them any more. Their dispatch frequency is 160.860 and they can sometimes be heard on the road frequency of 160.740. They can also be heard on the UP phone patch frequencies occasionally but I think they do almost everything on Nextel now.

Well, I'll drop a dime on those freqs and see what comes up. Thanks for the info.

They recently have had a lot of 459/487s from cars stopped along tracks, and I'd love to cover them/help out if they had something in progress. If they're on Nextels, oh well, but I'll keep an ear on those other freqs.

Having the road frequency as well as the main Roseville Yard frequency of 160.230 will probably get you more information since the carmen will usually call for a special agent on one of those two frequencies.

My experience is when there is a situation the crew will either call dispatch on the phone or they will contact them through the onboard computer (I saw a lot of dispatching based on this) or in an emergency they just call 911 on the cell and them it is routed to UP dispatch and the officers are dispatched over the phone. It is to cost prohibited to have an extensive network of communications for the UP PD when there aren't that many out and about. Most all train communications are done over satellite now days. I still keep in touch with some of the UP officers up in Sac every now and then so next time I talk to one of them I will get more info.
