Tune in the scanners, grab some extra batteries. Beginning today and through sunday, there should be some pretty interesting monitoring to be had. These days are the ones that make scanning a rewarding hobby.
Today:
Gov. Arnold and Home Land Security big wigs will be flying the Sacramento Valley this morning/afternoon. They'll be doing low-level fly-bys of the levee system. I've heard that there will be helicopters roving the lands. I imagine they'll be in some Blackhawks.
Today, weather permitting, the Blue Angels will be flying again - "advertising" the air show this weekend. It's amazing how many people called 911 to report low level aircraft, noise complaints, and some citizens were literally scared, thinking that Sacramento was under attack. Honest. There's even a hotline number for "complaints" about the air show.
