On the old system, there was no 13-15. Those are probably the admin, fire prevention, and arson talkgroups.

Wow, nice job kma371. I would've asked for your spreadsheet, but I think it's better to be posted here for all to see. Won't be long for those to get into the database I hope. Sounds like we'll see some more SSD id's this coming week. Hopefully Sac PD isn't far behind.

You were being confused by Metro Fire because they were patching A2 and A3 together. You might pick up on either and hear the same traffic.

The seperation of 32 generally works, but I can't remember the reasoning. There will be totally new channels, so don't forget that. I've been told that CHPD and EGPD will be on completely new channels (just what I heard), so don't expect the new mapping to look exactly like the old.

RolnCode3 is correct about the CHPD & EGPD, they will have there own as what I have seen so far.

I have not heard any traffic on those TG's since the American River Fire District was around - the district I was originally hired on to.

Well, they are in the fleetmap that the radio shop has. I have heard traffic on at least the arson TG, but can't remember the other 2.

Thanks! I will have to plug in that TG.

Can anyone confirm or deny that Sac City Fire is now using the new talkgroups exclusively? I haven't heard anything on their "old" talkgroups for a day or two, but I am hearing them on the new ones. So far, every other agency that I monitor, Metro Fire, SPD and SSD are still all using their old talkgroups.

It's actually kind of awkward, as I'm sure most of you know, because now I am monitoring Sac city TRS, Sac county TRS, and both sites of the SRRCS system.

The "Old" system is still up and running concurrently with alot of the "New" Talk Groups.

Sad to say, I monitored the Mobile Home Fire (at 0807 hours) around the 3100 block of Florin Road, which ended up with a child fatality (3 to 4 year old) and displaced family members.

Thankfully, the chaplains and the CISM teams were sent out to assist the victims, be it the family, the fire personnel and any other public safety agency personnel that was involved in the incident.

On another note - As for the Fire Dispatch system on the county side it is not just Metro Fire, it includes the following agencies:

SRFECC is a JPA managed by the following Fire Agencies:

Elk Grove Fire Department
Folsom Fire Department
Galt Fire Protection District
Sacramento City Fire Department (on Fire "B")
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District

In addition, we also provide contract dispatch services for:

Courtland Fire Protection District
Herald Fire Protection District
Walnut Grove Fire Protection District
Wilton Fire Protection District

Keep an eye on their website (www.srfecc.ca.gov) as they are working on a link to their CAD system (Computer Aided Dispatch).

Yesterday I heard encryption testing on 45040, but instead of the usual open squelch sound of DES, I heard what sounded like robot noises. The display on the 785 alternated between "P25" and "ENC".

I also heard SSD Mode 3 simulcast on analog talkgroup 61616.

From what I've been able to tell, you will hear talkgroups on both sites of the new system, but not necessarily at the same time. As a result, say you're just interested in listening to Metro Fire dispatch, you'd have to monitor both site 001 and 002 for talkgroup 53200. The database page will list frequencies for both sites, as well as all talkgroups because they have the ability to be used/heard across sites. I don't know about the VHF simulcast.

I heard & saw the same thing several times in the late afternoon.

Lots of units requesting radio checks on "Digital channel" from Command 1 and 2 on TG7280, site two. Started about 3:10 and continues.

Los Rios Community College District PD is doing radio checks on their new digital talkgroup: 7280.

Shortly after 3 PM the dispatcher made an announcement on analog TG 56720 for all units to "switch to the digital channel" at 1530 for radio checks.
Also heard the following SSD talkgroups simulcast in analog:

SSD Mode 2 61584
SSD Mode 3 61616
SSD Mode 4 61648

Sounds like they are now using 7280 for normal traffic. 56720 may become history.
