Saddle Brook PD on FD?

Anyone know whats going on with Saddlebrook PD? For the past two days they are using the FD's UHF channel. I've contacted their department twice, one about their repeater spewing out "spurs" all over the band, and another time about the constant high pitched oscillation that's on the signal. Maybe the 25 year old Micor repeater finally died?

Seems like it would complicate things. The DPW and FD use that frequency on a regular basis. I have the FD's radio layout and they show Channel 55 as Saddle Brook FD F2 and Channel 56 Saddle Brook FD F2 Simplex. No idea what the frequency is.

follow-up

Been listening this evening and PD is using the FD's primary channel, I think 453.225. I suspect their VHF repeater finally gave up.

Saddle Brook PD on FD

Just heard an officer say that he had his car radio set to "Saddle Brook PD talk around" but was unable to communicate with HQ. The dispatcher advised the officer that the PD car radios are not capable of transmitting on the FD channel, only their portables can.
