Safe-T going to 700 MHz??

I noticed in the FCC License thread a new entry for IPSC in LaPorte County that included some 700 MHz frequencies....I thought Safe-T was strictly 800, but maybe they are dipping into the 700 range too??

Yes, there are going to be some 700 MHz frequencies used. Even my local site, out here in the wilds of WCIN (a.k.a. "deliverance country"), has a 700 MHz frequency licensed, though as far as I can tell it's apparently not yet being utilized.

It's not just the "800" band anymore, it is 760 MHz to 870 MHz.

Yes SAFE-T is adding 700 MHz sites. We said this last year in advance so folks would be ready. And yes in next 3 years TDMA starts use. Also many agencies now also have 700 MHz talkarounds, tacticals, firegrounds, and interops for use in the new P25 radios.

Yeah I figured that was going to end up being a simulcast....I live in neighboring Porter County and they have begun the process of switching to Safe-T as well. From my understanding we plan on putting up 3 or 4 additional sites in the county. I was just surprised about the 700. It was always my understanding that Safe-T was strictly 800, but then again my understanding of the frequency usage is very limited these days. Thanks as always for the info!
