Unfortunately these developers see the whole world as the nail for their hammer.....

We used to think that if we could provide the mobile cop with a simple answer to "wanted/stolen/ops info/registration info/officer safety" that we'd hit the sweet spot. Every one of these extra things turns a police officer away from policing and more towards a data entry clerk....

IMHO - it's the "There's an app for that" syndrome. BUT - just because it exists doesn't mean it will be practical.
