Yes, we'll have to wait & see. I have seen 1710, which my thinking is saginaw twp fire admin. Need to confirm that though. In the meantime i've just added all those new tgid's to both my pro-96 & 2096! Now the next challenge is figuring some of the other township police depts admin tgid's.

Speaking of MBS, 1707 might be Ops, but I heard 1717 referred to as MBS Ops today. Also 1707 today sounded like they were watching someone on the airport grounds. 1718 could be tied to MBS also.

Heard 1661 this morning, sounded like a speed trap in Saginaw. They were checking seat belts and speed. Also 1739, maybe undercover, they were watching certain traffic in Saginaw.

Good info. From some other communications on Sheriff's Talkgroup a few weeks back I heard a Sheriff 75 at the airport. I have been hearing a "75" on 1707 (which my thinking is MBS Admin). So there's a Sheriff's deputy assigned to the airport.

My thinking is that 1661 is a police admin or tactical. I've also have heard 1744 with some police stuff about a week or so ago. Also, 1789 I heard as "admin 2" a few days ago. I think that's a police admin for one of the township police dept.

Sheriff 75 has been at the airport for several years.

Well, I won't hold this against you then. How do you like the area? Lived in Saginaw County all of my life, good and bad points I guess. Seriously, that info made me realize something that I had missed. I had heard 75 on the MBS TGID, but it didn't register as Sheriff 75 until your comment. Thanks...

This isn't a bad area. I don't mind it.

Heard some traffic on 2 separate occasions on 2202 involving police related matters in Frankenmuth. Thinking maybe Frankenmuth PD admin?

I've been whining about not getting decent mobile reception for a while now. I've tried several different mobile antennas without much success, but I discovered something today that probably only applies to me and no one else in the Universe. I use a RF FM transmitter to couple the ear phone jack output of my portable scanner to my car radio. Makes for easy volume and tone control. I had used 107.5 MHZ for the link since it is fairly uncluttered in this area.

By chance I noticed today that the signal strength drops from 5 bars to zero when I plug the RF transmitter into the ear phone jack. Changing the frequency to 107.7 MHZ gave me the 5 bars back!! Only thing I can think is 107.5 MHZ interfered with a RF or IF frequency and killed the signal.

Now reception is quite strong and the only remaining problem is the known garble.

Finally, a solution to decent mobile monitoring of the new digital system. A medium gain Yagi mounted in the center of the roof using a servo motor mount, connected to a pair of military grade GPS units mounted on the front fenders, interfaced to a RF analyzer and a computer that adjusts the time delay of the signals from the different towers to provide a unified signal and a second computer that adjusts the Yagi, directing it to the most appropriate tower. Reception is perfect except when the antenna is adjusting!! Total cost, about $65,000. Worst problem is that the car no longer fits in the garage and I can't drive over 12 MPH. If any one wants a parts list, let me know.

Good grief! hehe pictures?

Fyi I did other day pick up an I-call on the system.

I am not familiar with I-call?? But that made me think. A few days ago I got a strange transmission, it had a long alternating pair of IDs, 8 maybe 10 digits long, and ended with the letters DST alternating with SRC. What was this? Sounded like something to do with the prison and the movement of prison property.

That would be a Private call (also referred to as an ICall). It's a "private" conversation between two system users on the system. Private is a relative term in this case, as it simply means that only the two people involved with the conversation will hear the call on a system radio, however scanners can pick these up.

Some private calls you will only hear half of the conversation, depending on which tower sites the two participants are affiliated with.

Thanks Mike for that info. I learned something today. I've always said that if I learn something every day, the day wasn't a waste! This is probably something that most of you know, but it took me a while to find it. On an ICall, DST and SRC mean destination and source. I wonder who is privileged(?) to use this feature?

Hey not much happening here as we know there is probably a lot of ID's left, but havent been used much at all.
The original ID's that were posted in the database before the system went online havent been used or wont be used yet?
12230 12231 12232 12234 12235 12236 12237 12238 12240 12241

So the general thought is that they havent pulled the plug on the 800 analog yet is to ensure full county coverage in the mean time?

Additionally the list on my site I have is all of the known id's which I use excel to keep em in sort order.
Here's is the list I have been using -
http://webpages.charter.net/radiosite/saginaw talkgroups.xls

It's in excel, but it can be viewed in word.
Or use the free Microsoft excel viewer- Download details: Excel Viewer 2003

My thinking on them still using the old 800 is that some of the twp water depts, and haithco rec area may still be using it until get their new radioes and trainned before. You might be right about coverage issue though. The only one of the 12000 series tgr that i've anything on was 12238 and that was a while ago and sound like a local twp dpw. Big challenge is finding some of the other twp pd tg's.

I have found they must have finally pulled the plug on the 800 analog, not receiving the 'machine gunning' sound anymore. I went ahead and deleted the system on my end. Only the city pd did I ever hear on it after the switchover. I wouldn't hear that on the digital at the same time, but now I am picking up the city pd on the digital now.
IMHO an admin can archive/delete Saginaw County Trunking System, Saginaw, Michigan - Scanner Frequencies

Additionally has the MMR dispatch for the Bay City Euclid ave. station also using the Saginaw digital now? 155.265 is what I have and heard em use it before but it is silent it seems now.
