i just read the latest radio reference news update about saginaw county updating its system.does this mean no more motorola type ll and is it going digital ,any body want to buy a used pro 95.MAN THIS COULD SUCK

Yes, and Yes.

The system would be P25 9600 like the state system, and all digital. It would also be connected to the state system for statewide interoperablity.

Has anyone heard any updates on this? The piece about it on the Saginaw County TRS Page shows the planned switch over at the end of December. But back in June they were still discussion tower placement. Has the end of December date been pushed back?

That is a good question? I know that Saginaw County was seeking monetary grants to help them with the forward progress of transforming the system over to P-25. I honestly don't know if they have received any or not, but they may have decided to wait until the Nextel Rebanding Project is completed in Michigan, before they proceed forward. Moreover, they may actually make the changeover at that time like several agencies are doing around the nation when their time comes.
