I see erie county sheriffs have a patch on saianet. Is it encrypted on their system? And if so why would it be encrypted if the conventional channel for the sheriffs is open? Could this mean they are going encrypted in the future so they wanted to set it up that way on saianet?

That's for saia net DMR. Erie county sheriff just switched to P25 within the last 5 years. I find it hard to believe they will get all new radios and switch to saia net system when they just upgraded to P25. I don't have a scanner to scan saia net just thought it was weird they had their patch encrypted.

Per DSD, it's running Enhanced Privacy/RC4 too, as of 30 seconds ago. Why? I have no idea. It's usually active on the Perrysburg site only, from my findings at least. I thought, I could be mistaken, but I thought it was running Basic Privacy for a while.

I'd be hard-pressed to believe ECSO would be switching to SaiaNet. They have upgraded a lot of their portable radios from XTS1500's to APX4000's over the past few years, and I've even seen an NX-5300 kicking around that I was told they were testing.

When they converted, they were using their XTS1500's in analog, and were for years. When they upgraded, they didn't fleetwide buy new radios. It was just a programming thing.

Unconfirmed, but HIGHLY SUSPECT that SaiaNet TG 500111 (active on Site 3) is a patch of ECSO Ch 2. Unconfirmed because it's running Enhanced Privacy, but the activity matches up perfectly to their clear analog channel.

Wonder why encrypted on Saia net but not on open channel ? Maybe concerned it makes it easier to monitor their channel ?
