Sailfest New London

Sailfest is in New London this weekend. The police are understaffed by 30 officers. The Deputy Chief said traffic posts will go unmanned and they will use Waterford and the CSP for mutual aid. I heard them testing several new talk groups this morning on the Waterford TRS. It should be interesting. There is also a lot of controversy about the Amistad backing out of coming and the Governor is threatening to withhold state funding. We shall see if they show up. It sounds like the radio traffic on the system is picking up. Happy monitoring!

Just as a side note - we encourage the use of the wiki to record freqs and talkgroups for special events like this one. That way,. eventually, you get a history of comms at this event, and you have a ready reference for following years...Mike

Watch the Waterford System - there shouldn't be any (many) surprises in talk groups for New London. Regular inteop channels. Remember, you have so many different agencies involved - Dont forget Amtrak, Coast Guard, all the other groups who have initials!
