Anyone know SJPD car unit numbers or do they have different "zones" in the city ?
I've heard 5Central as a call sign. Thanks.

There are four zones for Saint John City Police. Basically North, East, West, and South/Centre. If you heard someone referring to "Central" it was most likely referencing the dispatch/station. Units are referenced by their three digit number, typical patrol all beginning with "1" so many times you'll hear them referred to by only the last two numbers... for example "25" being 125 and so on. Because of the relatively small number of units in the City, there is no need to separate calls by zone and unit number.

One other quirk that came to mind that I can mention is that when you hear them referring to "Uptown" cars, that is basically South/Centre zone units. Saint John has an "Uptown" core instead of like most cities' named "Downtown"... :) One of our little eccentricities...

Thanks for the info, didnt know all the patrol cars start with "1" so it make listening easier , our NS scanner is still offline, so I imagine the cars are like halifax pd , posted to a certain area of the city , and yes the uptown thing is confusing lol.
