Salinas police freqs

Is Salinas still on UHF? I have a friend there that I want to loan a scanner to preloaded and I wanted to make sure they are still on the listed frequencies provided here.

Yes! Channels 1-3 are also simulcast on VHF, so they can be heard by other law enforcement agencies in the county. I would program those freqs too; because there is no problem hearing them 20 miles away even on a HT. Those repeaters must be on Mt Toro or Fremont Peak...

Why is there no real time police feed for Salinas, CA....one of the biggest murder/gang infested cities in the country?
