What frequencies should I listen to for the salt/brine trucks in the louisville area. I have some of the KDOT, and Louisville public work frequencies, but I am not hearing nothing. Just want to keep an ear on the weather/road situation.

Have you tried the analog trunked system?
There are some groups on there that are not used often...
And that is where I hear most of the activity for trash, cleanups, alley work during the non-snow times.

The airport snow removal is on there, not much to listen to, but they do keep on top of the runways for UPS.

Every time I see them on TV I try to listen and/or see the radios or antennas, never do though, reporters are afraid of getting dirty.

But that was my best guess, somebody must know in the area.

on the road to Nonesuch, Ky...
In Lexington they us a talk group or two on the Lexington Public Safety TRS, they have a talk group on the Lexington Sanitation TRS and I have also heard some of them on their expired Streets and Roads freq..... If anyone gets any freqs pass them along.....at least notations for the data base for future reference. In my area I seldom hear chatter because they are too busy scrapping and avoiding four wheelers, the other factor to consider is the number of contract truckers using their company freqs, if they are talking....

Update, it says Solid waste is responsible for snow removal, so they would be on the old analog trunk system.
I've got a fleet map around here for them that woks a little better, but I'm still testing it.

The Louisville Metro snow team – which includes Louisville Metro Public Works, Solid Waste Management Services, Metro Parks and the Metropolitan Sewer District - has 257 employees and 135 pieces of equipment to clear 1,047 miles of road in Louisville.

You have to hear the DOT on the Indiana Safe-T system, they are constantly chattering, alot of times about personal stuff. I like to listen to the DOT on the Safe-T system, they use those surface temp guns to check the road surface temp regularly, and call it over the radio.

They burn up the airwaves... I'm sure they come close to overloading some of the sites with all the accident traffic going on at the same time.

I used their/DOT information to text my wife updates on traveling home and the time to leave work. This might be far out, but try 156.225 151.4 Wash Co IN they love to talk also.
