I know they are up on the wiki/scanning site.......but does anyone know the history of them?

Oo.......2 are missing:
9-2-----Send assistance (no life in danger, do not run code)
9-2 STAT----Send assistance FAST (life not in danger, but life kinda sucks, so hurry up)

Well, who knows? Maybe some SLC cop or ex-cop might know.
During my years on active duty, I traveled around the U.S.
I discovered two basic sets of Ten-Codes. Each of those had some variations for the area.
For example, "Livestock on Highway" didn't fit in the city, so it usually became "Animal Problem"
I also came across 12 codes used by Oregon State Police. Somewhere there was an 11-code.
Some areas had "Signal codes" Signal-6, Signal 14,
I thought I had heard almost everything until I came to Utah.
ETOH, PMA, PMR, AP&P, C-Collar, CVA, and many others I heard for the first time in Utah

What is ETOH? Never heard that one....
  • ETOH: (a). Extremely Trashed or Hammered :D (b). Lab abbreviation for ethyl alcohol. Used by EMS personnel to describe an intoxicated person.
  • PMA: Paramedic Assist. Used when paramedic rides with ambulance crew to assist while on way to hospital.
  • PMR: Paramedic Recovery. Usually used by fire crew telling dispatcher they are on way to hospital to recover their paramedic.
  • AP&P: Adult Probation and Parole. Self explanatory.
  • C-Collar: Cervical Collar use to immobilize neck of injured person suspected of having neck or spinal injury.
  • CVA: Cerebrovascular Accident (stroke).

Yep, that is what they use all the time when they dispatch EMS on "a man down" call. They usually tell them that they are either ETOH or possibly ETOH. You need to get out more.
