Salt Lake City FD & PD Back On Regular Channels

As of approx. 3:00 pm this afternoon (2-22-06), Salt Lake City Fire and Salt Lake City PD have returned to their regularly assigned channel(s). I was copying them on CC 868.1125.

Never mind, that CC is the UCAN - where can i find the talkgroup ID to use with the PD/FD? Also, i just heard them say that they were switching back to pioneer and liberty normal channels. Does anyone have these TGID's for the SLCPD Dispatch, i couldnt find them on this site?

Follow this path when you open this site: DataBase > click on Utah on the map > All trunked systems > Salt Lake City Public Safety (6 lines above UCAN, 13th entry from top of list).

Okay, those TGID are working for me, finally i can hear some local traffic, but i still dont see a Dispatch TGID? Am i blind?

No, you are not blind. Let's say you are listening to TG 736 (SLC PD Pioneer, which is the West side), all the traffic you hear on this channel includes the dispatcher; TG 704 (SLC PD Liberty, East side) includes a different dispatcher. East and West are divided in SLC and each have their own dispatcher. If they are down to one dispatcher for some reason, all the cars will migrate to which ever channel the dispatcher tells them and when they return to two dispatchers, East and West will be split again. All car-to-car traffic is handled on a separate TG and all requests/service from the field (phone calls, wrecker requests, confirmation on arrest warrants, etc.) are handled on yet another channel.

A few other SLC items are Vice, Narc, Swat and Detectives I have heard each of these talkgroups active at times. As to SLCFD they dispatch and respond on the FD dispatch TG, if it is a large event: fire, chemical spill, etc. They will respond on SLC Fire 2. I have found it useful to set a bank just for the SLC trunked system with all the TG's in it. Hope you enjoy scanning !!!

make sure you are monitoring on the new slc simulcast site and not just using the rebroadcast system over the ucan site. not all traffic is sent to the ucan site. the new simulcast site control channel for salt lake city is 860.2625 then you can pick up all the traffic.

Thank you, lavy, for that information. That could be critical. As a matter of fact, I was copying off of UCAN.

Thanks for the Trunker log Gary. I edited the AC33 site in the database with the information you posted.

I monitored another eight days and updated it just now. I deleted a few talkgroup names where I saw no activity.
