I reported at the beginning that their PD would be totally encrypted, and it is. There is one TG that is not. It may be because it will be for interoperating on other systems (e.g. a "Metro" channel) or it may be a Public Works to PD type channel.

8001 seems to be Fire Dispatch and 8002 EMT Dispatch but they may be inconsistent or there is something I haven't figured out.

8003 is fireground. I am listening to a fire on it as I write.

I am hearing 8003 now. There are firefighters talking on it that sound like they are using SCBAs.

Did you hear if this is a confirmed working fire or a training?

Missed the beginning and couldn't listen to it for long. It sounded like a real fire, though.

The ones marked "Unknown" exist but haven't been used when I have been monitoring. Since they are in the PD range, I suspect they are encrypted.

I'm out of range of their UHF. Are they still using any of the UHF freqs for fire dispatch?
I doubt it. They are using their new radios a lot. By the way, I don't think I can pick them up on UHF either. I'm on the Chandler/Baja Tempe border.

In the desert someplace
I do still hear both fire and pd on analog. Not a huge amount, but I heard them as recently as Thursday. I'm less than a mile from the reservation. I heard them more frequently before my unit moved back to the main Scottsdale building and the building blocks a lot of stuff.

The fire department was doing testing tonight on talkgroup 8005 which they were identifying as channel 5. They were talking with SCBA masks on, and it sounded terrible. This is going to get someone killed! It reinforces why Phoenix fire insists on doing fireground communications on analog simplex.

Ok, it's been 7 months now. The DB still shows Salt River FD using 453.725. Have they retained it for some reason, or should it be removed from the DB, because the FD has completely transitioned over to the trunked system?

I'm updating the programming in my scanner, by hand, and I want to know if I should retain it or not.

To the best of my knowledge Salt River Fire & PD are only using their trunked system. The only time they are on UHF is when they are patched to Salt River Fields Fire/Medical frequency. This happens for large events where SRFD Rescue 299 and Engine 299 are on standby at the ballpark.
