Hello Everyone. I am new here. I recently had a co-worker show me his iphone scanner program. I noticed that there was nothing in the San Antonio area since they use a Provoice system that can't be scanned currently. I decided to dust off my old scanner that I retired when San Antonio setup the new system in 2004 and provide some feeds of the local agencies in Bexar county not using Provoice. The feed is setup over at Scan America. Bexar County, Texas Live Police, Fire, and EMS Scanners

Here is a list of what is up on the feed.

Balcones Heights: Fire/Police
Cibolo: Fire
Helotes: Fire
Kirby: Fire/Police
Leon Valley: Police/Fire
Live Oak: Fire/EMS Dispatch (includes Selma Fire)
Olmos Park: Police
Terrell Hills: Police
Windcrest: Police
NEISD: Police
Castle Hills: Police
Alamo Heights: Police

Please note that some agencies operate on dual systems so you may not hear them all the time. I know it looks like a lot of agencies and the scanner would be busy all them time but for the most part the traffic is light. Also, I will take the feed down at night usually around midnight and it will come back up at 9am until I can locate the computer in a different room (too noisy and hot). Let me know if you have any requests. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks!

Listening to the feed right now- I like it. These are systems I don't monitor at all (just not interesting enough for me). I work in San Antonio and when I'm here all I listen to is federal agencies (the sporadic nature of their transmissions keeps me from monitoring other busy systems when I might not catch a fed tx). I can see me keeping this feed in the background of my computer...

By the way, what type of scanner are you using for the feed?

I just heard a great transmission!

An officer got on and called dispatch...

Dispatch: "Go ahead."
LEO 1: "Just wanted to let you know that it's 5107's birthday and he didn't want anyone to know..."
Dispatch: "10-4... dispatch to 5107."
5107: "Go ahead"
Disptch: "Happy Birthday sir."
5107: [facetiously] "Thank you ma'am, and thank you officer Adams."

Wasn't working when I checked it out.

Mike

Yeah Sorry about that. I take it offline from midnight to about 9am Central while I sleep since the computer makes the room really hot for some reason. I should be moving it soon (once I get an antenna) and it will be on 24/7.

Thanks!

Glad you like it! I use a Uniden BC245XLT. I am interested in the Fed feeds. Do you have those online somewhere?

Put up federal feeds for San Antonio? Yeah, that sounds like a good way to push all the agencies with entertaining traffic into using encryption more than they already are.

Well Converse is analog on the LIve Oak System but those other ones I listed are provoice enless they are patched to there old channels which i think Alamo Heights might be but I think that is it enless the feed provider has a way to monitor the provoice system which would be great

Sorry everyone. I took this feed down during remodeling and have not put it back up since I don't have a place to put it now. Also, I have not had the time to re-program it since there have been some changes. A lot of the agencies have moved to provoice now so I don't even know if its worth it.

If there is enough interest here I will try to get it back up soon.

Who would like to see this broadcast back up?

I would not mind having any kind of feed for the SA area. on a side note from Michael-SATX post the Balcones Heights PD is on 152.540 and also any of the agencies that have moved to provoice still have there FD's patched to there old vhf channel, Kirby, Alamo Heights etc...And on the Live Oak system all of the cities FD's are still patched to there old vhf channels with Converse FD patched to 155.250. Of course not very busy but all of them in one feed with some of the PD's left vhf like Shavano Park PD which is patched to the provoice system and has Helotes and Grey Forest on that channel as well. Then add BCFA and anything else you might want to add. Up to you, I know it is a bunch of work to maintain a feed.

The Bexar Feed

I too wish some one would hurry up and get it back on line. I was using it on the job as a security officer
and help passed the time.
