0155.4450 DPS Dispatch Off None Off 162.2

i'm hearing units out in the field and dispatch running 28, 29's

one, after the other, after the other.

DPS pickup trucks are also pulling over flatbeds, dumptrucks, and trailers out in my area for about 4 weekends now - checking for apparent safety violations...

LOL its the same nationwide. If you can monitor State Highway patrols anywhere they will be very busy this weekend, as well as all the local stuff too. Good monitoring weekend.

DPS SA usually turns on their repeater for special operations, such as the Memorial Day weekend. Due to stepped-up enforcement and increased number of units they have on the road, they'll turn on the repeater so that the field units wont constantly walk over each other. In addition to the Memorial Day activities, operation click it or ticket was relaunched for the summer months.

Ive heard the repeater activated for New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Thanksgiving enforcement periods.

Also, if conditions warrant, the SGT on duty may request the repeater to be activated as well.

Good question djm. Might explain why I haven't heard much DPS traffic in the SA area.

I heard quite a bit of traffic on the air travelling thru Sequine yesterday coming back from Houston and that is the most I have heard from the DPS in two weeks. Suprising considering I never saw the first marked unit on the whole trip and I can normally count on seeing 1 or 2 ,one way or another.
