how does the P25 sound here in SA? I don't have a digital scanner anymore but will be getting a new one soon. Can you copy bot sides on one freq or is it still set up like the old analog way base on one and mobile on another

It depends on the communication center the signal is coming from. The four main "base" frequencies (155.4600, 155.4675, 155.4450, 155.4525) are the ones typically used in half duplex mode. I have noticed most of these frequencies are in full duplex however in West Texas Region 4. The TLE repeaters are always in full duplex (159.210 and 159.2175).

The dispatcher has the option via the console to "open" the base repeater at any time as needed. For San Antonio, if my memory serves me correctly, 155.4450 was in half duplex last time I travelled through the area.

As of a week ago, SA was coming in very clear on both 155.445 from SA and 159.2100, or 159.2175 in the San Marcos area (I can't recall whether it was 159.210 or 159.2175). Sounded good on both Pro96 and 785D.
