I tried to download this and read it. For some reason I cannot view it and it comes up as an empty page. Might there be another way to view it?

Thank you for the help.

Wonder who all the targets are that will consist of an make-up of the total of 1600 additional radios?

Intresting to see who all they have identified so far, that they are working agreements with. I see they made no mention of any of the county VFD's, as of yet.

Looking to become an sad, sad world as far as scanner monitoring in the San Antonio area over the next five or so years. :x

Oh yeah, Thanks for the updated info, LB.

I'm a dispatcher for one of the municiplaites in san antonio. I have seen first hand what can dangerously happen with out radios that can communicate between departments. Last week a high speed prusuit took place while I was on shift. It started off in our city about 2 square miles, and quickly went into San Antonio's North Patrol Side. The following procedures where then required for help for San Antonio.

1. Officer In Prusuit telling his dispatcher where he is.
2. Dispatcher calls SAPD 207-7273 to get help. Waits in the holding cue.
3. Talks to a call taker.
4. Call Taker tells dispatcher.
5. Dispatcher tells officer.

It should be more like, Officer tells Officer as both disptachers listen on open channel.

Can u imagine having to do all this and at speeds of 75 miles per hour on city streets how quicky last positions change.

And in the end, officer was left without cover 25 miles outside his city in a part of town not well known to him. I'm glad he is alright.

Yup, I heard a pursuit the other day from Comal County SO and a Bulverde PD officer down 281, burg suspects.

No kidding, the pursuit wrecked out at 281 and Nakoma at some adult-establishment before SAPD even knew about the chase, that's right, 8 MILES into the city limits. I heard there were actually SAPD officers asking dispatch if someone from up north was in a pursuit, because they saw an unknown agency in a chase.... hmmmm......
