A number of new frequencies have been licensed by San Antonio under callsign WQCB986, in the 866-868.9875 band.

We've heard reports that the city and county has been reprogramming all the radios, so it's possible that some new LCN's are going to be put in place on the outlying sites, most likely to prepare for the nextel rebanding that is going to occur in the future.

I'm working on matching up the new licenses with the existing frequencies to see how the spectrum is laid out.

It also looks like WNGU984, the simulcast sites' license has been reissued, but I don't see any real changes.

Looks like changes are about to occur on the system!

Yes, I've heard that lots of radios have been coming off the street for reprograming but wasn't aware of the new licensing.

Here is how the new licenses break down (new freqs for each site listed as pulled from FCC records)

Grey Forest - Site 4

866.7000
867.0750
868.0375
868.7250

Hill Country - Site 5

866.0750
866.6500
867.2000
867.7375
868.2125
868.6375

American Tower (S Breeze) = Site 6

866.7500
868.8625

Topperwein - Site 7

866.1750
867.1250
867.6750

Looking at the way they allocated the licenses, it looks like they are adding LCNs to alleviate heavy traffic on some of the outlying sites that are providing coverage to more populated areas. In addition, because of some of the interlocal agreements that are probably going to take place with other Bexar County agencies, the additional LCNs will be needed to handle the increase in traffic. That's my take... :)

In addition, it looks like they are going to take some LCNs from SAPD's blue site and add them Gold, since there is a new license for what looks to be Gold's simulcast frequencies with the addition of 5 LCNs from the Blue allocations:
