Not trying to high jack this thread, but did SBCoFD go to the dreaded encryption this weekend? Fire-D keys up and just getting squelch sound. May take a little road trip later today and see if it is just repeater problem.

I'm still receiving them on them on Systems 6 and 8.

With all the rain on Saturday it must have messed with one of the repeaters. Started getting traffic again late Sunday night. Since they did the rebanding on the 800 fill in for the non trucked areas there has been some equipment issues for the North desert.

Medic Engine 53 (Baker) sounded like they were on the digital system today and we're going digital pretty bad today.

SBCO Fire

I just spent several days in Big Bear Lake and monitored 8-Fire-1 where I heard county fire dispatching calls to the mountain area. The Big Bear Lake fire VHF system was mostly dead but I did hear them on 8-Fire-1 so they may have switched over after various merging going on with Big Bear City I believe. TG seem still valid as well as frequencies. Suggest you try monitoring the vhf access 159.120 mhz. I can hear it all the way to the coast. It seems to rebroadcast most if not all of the 800 mhz 8-Fire-1 traffic.

Of course monitoring BDU and BDF vhf systems would be heard to LA too. Any major wildland or potential wildland fire eg: vehicle near brush would be dispatched to multiple agencies during times of high fire danger.

I did not hear any of the 8-Law-1 traffic eg: sheriff in the mountains. They have either changed TG or are on a different system now. So I am looking for confirmation on that myself.

Did you happen to hear the radio techs testing on 8-CTac-2 the past few days?

All of SBDCO LE has been encrypted.

BDC V1?

I was just going to ask about BDC V-1. I hear follow-up radio traffic from county fire units in the field, but don't hear simulcast dispatches anymore on V1. It used to echo I thought. Ideas?

V1 is patched to 6-Fire-1, so you'll hear everything AFTER the initial dispatch as a "command" channel.

They dispatch all calls for the valley on 6-Fire-2 which isn't patched to a VHF.
