Yes, I know, I don't understand why I'm not receiving anything from CommCenter on the P25 system. RR states "CommCenter extensively uses the P25 trunked radio system operated by SBCo Information Services (ISD)."

There is no activity on the Simulcast frequencies, I think it is all analog on the old 06/07 system.79534

I can hear Ontario FD but none of the ConFire JPA (CommCenter)
The Radio Reference page states, "CommCenter extensively uses the P25 trunked radio system operated by SBCo Information Services (ISD). " yet no other FD is heard except Ontario FD.

System 6 and 7 which is the same system has been off there is no more analog on you made mention of you can't get the p25 commcenter talkgroup to receive, that talk group isn't that active and certainly probably doesn't have any user landed on that talkgroup in that area, are you trying to listen to dispatch? If so 2disp1 and 3disp2 are what you want to listen to for county resources. Rancho and Ontario being the exception to confire jpa agreement have their own, and I believe CVIFD is using confire for dispatch now as well.

No that's not what I was saying, I believe their tablet system etc does most of Rancho, Rancho is under the confire jpa. Rancho like most of the cities thru the county has Admin fire talkgroups, two encrypted and one in the clear.

Thanks for the replay. Now I understand why there is so little traffic on Rancho. What do you think are the best sites to program for confire jpa. Im in Rancho.

I have been studying the SBDCO system sites. When out in the desert like around Joshua Tree area I am able to pickup the Onyx - Paxton - and Rodman Sites. I can only pickup the Homestead site coming into Morongo Valley into Yucca Valley. Not sure if the Donnell Site is up and running. Not able to pickup the CC in this area.

2-Dispatch-1 and 3-Dispatch-2 are transmitted on the majority of all of the sites. Onyx Site carries 2-CMD-5 for mountain regions which are patch to 3-CMD-9 in the desert areas.

The Rodman site carries no dispatch talkgroups but does carry 3-CMD-6 and TAC-6 as well as 3-CMD-7 and TAC-7.

If you are in reach of The Mountain Simulcast System then this is the site to listen too. All ConFire Fire Talkgroups are transmitted on this site which is pretty sweet and nice. Also, all of Ontario Fire is on this site too. Barstow fire is not transmitted on this site.

If this helps: the system carries whatever channels that have a local user tuned to that talkgroup. In the middle of nowhere, a particular site may not carry ANY talkgroups until someone turns a radio on or travels within range. Most urban/suburban areas have a fire station tuned to the dispatch talkgroup which makes nearly certain you'll hear the fire dispatch channels. Some stations/user radios "see" the mountain system better than their local system and affiliate with that one causing the mountains to carry many more TGs than others.

Also, I was wondering when listening to SBDCO Fire what does the units mean when they say "MVA"

Curious when they dispatch an MVA unit. Is it an ambulance or a medic unit. Interesting

They're saying MBA referring to Morongo Basin Ambulance Co. This company covers ambulance service in the Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms area along with surrounding unincorporated areas.

Thanks. I was always wondering what MBA stood for. Makes sense now. Morongo Basin Ambulance. Also, I am using a Unication G5 radio on this system and it works completely awesome on the simulcasting sites. The sensitivity of this radio blows any other radio out of the water.

Been using the Mountain Simulcasting site mostly as well as West Valley when in the local SBDCO. When in the high desert areas like Joshua Tree I have been using the Onyx site as well as Homestead - Paxton - and the Rodman sites. The SBDCO VHF patch frequencies are nice to have programmed too.
