Unless they add site to areas like Trona and Red Mountain they will still need them. I know in Ridgecrest I can get D-Fire-4 and in some parts of town D-Fire-3. Once you get on the 14 you can even get D-Fire-2 South of Jawbone.

The new system is the 700/800 p25 system that is in development. Was not sure if they would plan for intellirepeaters or standalones like the "D-System" One thing I like about the standalone repeaters is you and monitor a larger area because of simulcasting.

Oh, THAT new system. :lol:

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for much to change along those lines in the areas where the D-FIRE channels are. That's probably years beyond any planning that has been done so far.
