That is the first pd web site I have seen with a live dispatch. Trust your scanner and not they web site becuase I do not see a pd putting out a live broadcast of any channel. I could be wrong, but will check it out myself.

San Carlos PD Live Audio vs. Live Radio

I live right next door to San Carlos. SCPD can still be heard on 488.4875, but I get the impression that something changed with their repeater, because the signal seems about 2 'S' units less than what I'm used to. The online stream does correlate with with the over the air signal, but is delayed by about 10 seconds.

ROg the NEt Delay....

ROG that!!
I was advised it may have the interenet daelaying it
Buut I rationalized that because I have a IBM Thinkpad 20
With WIFI at the Local Cafe' LOL
It wouldn't be as delayed..
I guess its them (San Carlos), delaying for "security" purposes ..
Anyways thank you SOOO
Much
Warmest regards,
Crista

Quite possibly just a product of whatever equipment and software stands between their dispatch consoles and your computer. If it was a 15 minute delay, I could see a "security" argument much more easily. Either way, doesn't matter, just an observation.

The delay is just a function of the technology. It takes time to convert the analong to digital, send it thru the internet, and then convert it back.

The biggest thing determining the delay is the amount of buffering your player is using. You can usually get into the program settings and reduce the buffer time, at the potential expense of dropouts or pauses in the audio stream.

Both makes sense..
I wasn't sayin it WAS security reasons rather throwing in a guesstimate,,

Anywyas the Frequ I have has been confirmed as the actual San Carlos PD Frequ:cool:

And that all that matters in the end...
