Interesting that this just got published. The team has been working with the Fire Mutual Aid zones for months now.
The project is addressing VHF infrastructure requirements for all-hazard local / state / federal incident communications.

Are any of the SDSO old UHF frequencies still used in the county for mutual aid purposes?

When I was a reserve deputy in Santee in the late 70s we still had low band portables, I remember laughing when the FTO handed me the radio and showed me how to extend the antenna. Last time I had done that was with our CB walkie talkies when we roamed the canyons in south Clairemont as kids in the 60s.
I think Poway was on UHF by then.
