San Francisco fire/ems feed

I enjoyed this feed on firefeeds.com when it was there. they turned it over to RR & I enjoyed it here for several days. I live in Sacramento, but am in SF often. now I see that the feed has been removed from the bay area feed list. what's up?

The feed provider blew his top when one of our audio admins sent him a short message to let him know that the feed alerts text field (the one that displays in red when something big is happening on a feed) should not be used for the status of a feed.

So, he sent a profanity laced message to our team, and then terminated his feed.

It was really over something as stupid as that.

I've got some good contacts in the bay area, so we'll probably deploy a few radios here in the next few months to cover SF Police and SF Fire.

Another big crybaby who took his toys and went home, all because he didn't like a simple rule? 52 year old guy acting as immature as a temperamental teenager. Lindsay, I sure hope you asked for him to give back the premium membership fee that he asked you to refund to him after his feed switched over from FireFeeds. Although I'm sure you took the high road and let it go. :wink:

I miss that feed somethin' awful. Being the intrepid sort I wrote to him after it turned off -- he said he'd tried to start it up again a couple times and it kept getting denied or something. I don't know, it's none of my business but everybody has a bad day, and he was very nice over email. I hope it gets turned back on, or somebody else can cover it asap.

I just approved a new SFFD feed yesterday.
The feed owners hopes to have the feed up by the end of the week.

Thanks everybody. I'm really new to all of this although I knew it was possible. I bought the iPhone app and got hooked on the SFFD feed. When it went down, I decided to jump in and share my stuff. I'll be tweaking it over the next few weeks, while I set up a dedicated computer for it. It's running on my old laptop for now so my apologies if it should go down.

What I got mad at was the 02:30 email about reading the rules AGAIN,
so lets get the story right, and I was willing to bring it back if the Admins could have agreed to NOT e-mail at 02:00 unless it was something important like your "feed is down"

Just to clarify the time, even though time has nothing to do with this, It was sent to you at 1am EST which if i remimber correct would be 10pm PDT? Also, that is the email that was sent AFTER you decide to accuse us of "nit-picking".

If you want to discuss this, email me and il be willing to talk to you about it. I dont think this is something that needs to be discussed here.

I had the Admins on a alert so if the feed went down I could respone ASAP, so every time an ADMIN would e-mail me it went to my smartphone and would wake me up.

Like I had said earlier it was something that could have waited, I was not posting anythig at 02:30, and all I asked for was no BS e-mail at 02:00 on any day unless it was an emergency

I know nothing of all this but I have to say.....WHAT A GOD DA#M BABY YOU ARE!!!!!
Do you have some kind of air raid siren that goes off in your home each time you get an email?
The admins will email at their convenience since they have jobs and families and LIVES.

As for your "lawyer" JOPATENTS"........really guy, really? Your conducting legal communications for your "client" on a public message board? By the way....what legal ramifications does your "clients" feed being deleted have that he needed an "attorney"?

You are the same type of people that ruin volunteer fire departments......believing everyone has nothing better to do and should dedicate every waking minute to the cause.

I've ask for someone to call me about this, I was and still am to a point to work this out, and I've also sent in my error code and I have NEVER gotten a relpy from anyone at RR.com

as a feed provider, I allowed that to happen and maybe that was my mistake, I'm sure that Admins would have liked all their feed providers do something like I did, and it was set up as an emergency contact in case of the feed going down..

Now I never had a problem when I was doing "Firefeds.com" which I did for over five(5) years, but I come here and get 100's of e-mail about "why don't you add SF police to your feed" and other hateful e-mail from people who for some reason or other didn't like my feed ( never under stood that one?)

I stick my nose in it because I have seen whinny people like you ruin good free, volunteer, leisurely things before. And also because your "lawyer" really pissed me off with his attempts to intimidate the RR staff by using the word "lawyer" and that thread is closed. Screw him too.

I sympathize with you about the selfish "I want it now" people emailing you. But I do not see how that is the fault of RR. Ignore them, block them....but it comes with the territory.

I am a new feed provider and have had nothing but pleasant, helpful and attentive responses from the VOLUNTEERS that run this site and its services.

There is no such thing as an emergency when it comes to hosting a feed.
