Keep hearing 977 code on the scanner (both units and dispatch use it) and can't find what it is lol that's the only code that makes it hard to follow events. Any clarification/help is greatly appreciated!

I do not know if this is the correct answer as I don't know the context of how it is used, but it may have to do with 977 of the California Penal Code. This has to do with someone appearing in court to represent themself and their right to waive the right in misdemeanor cases. In the past, it was generally used when it would be difficult for you to make a physical presence in court, such as if you live quite a ways away, you can have just your lawyer represent you. This has become a bigger issue now in the age of COVID... people don't want to show up in court to minimize their exposure.
