San Jose police arrested three suspected bank robbers this morning after they allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo Bank and took off, flinging the stolen money out the window on the freeway during a police chase. ...

San Jose police: Bank robbery suspects flung bag of money out car window before arrest - San Jose Mercury News

.. Officers recovered two guns and police scanner inside the car, which was reported stolen out of Greenfield, south of Salinas in Monterey County.

[Am I the only one that's glad they didn't throw the scanner out of the window!]

See this is why the hobby of scanning is slowly fading because of idiots are getting smarter in this area. They are carrying scanners now. Well it looks like San Jose is next on the chopping block to get their trunked system upgraded with full digitial encryption. Mark my words on this.

Well the scanner obviously didn't help them much.

You might be-able to carry a scanner to do a crime and be-able to listen but you are not going to get away unless you are faster than radio signals. If you are going to rob a bank you are not going to get away. The cops will beat on your head and take you right to jail and take that cheap VHF scanner and place it right on the San Jose Police Chiefs desk.

Then Motorola will get a hold of the city and say I told you guys should of upgraded from that old beat up VHF system you have. Then the Motorola Sales Wolfs are going to attack city council and sell in a nice beautiful P25 Trunked System that be encrypted and then there is another city down the tubes because of one stupid idiot that went to Radio Shack right before he and his group went to go rob the bank.

Rule #1 Radio Scanners are for people that love the hobby and that are good tax paying citizens
that want to hear what is going on in their city or county. Responsible People Only.

Rule #2 To have a trunking scanner should be like owning a gun. You register your scanner and do
a background check for a few days and you get to pick which one you want. You are also
issued whatever encryption passcode to program your scanner too and get to listen to whatever
you want. People that love the hobby are not criminals. We just love to listen and enjoy life.
People that are resonsible don't do anything with the radio signals or the communications.
Usually in one ear and out the other and we go on with our day.

In conclusion to my soap box this morning is that the more you want to lock things down on the earth which nobody owns people are just going to go around things and do more crimes. Think of it this way the more you cage a monkey up that monkey is always going to find a way to get out of his cage and have a smack down with whoever locked that monkey up. The world is getting more angry as the days pass. Its just a matter of time until the world is going to turn on their government. They are all corrupted that why they want to keep locking people out with fancy technology that is going to get hacked anyways some day. Just a matter of time.
