San Jose Grand Prix/ 7/27 weekend

The San Jose Grand Prix is next weekend.

They have apparently decided to go with rental radios this time
around using the license of the rental company, instead of the
STA frequencies from the last 2 years.

All simplex from what I can tell. No repeaters licensed.

The usual public safety channels will also be in use: (i'll post freqs/pl's later
tonight when I'm near my own computer)

San Jose PD 5 downtown Patrol
San Jose PD 9 usually perimeter ops
San Jose PD 11 usually street crimes inside perimeter
San Jose PD 13 Tactical simplex
BAYMACS interop PD/Fire/EMS linking
Med 97 Tactical for the medical golf transport carts
Med 92 EMS command
San Jose Fire Command 3
San Jose Fire Tac 5 (racetrack tactical)
San Jose SAR repeater (they run ATV's for medical response)

That is also the weekend for the NHRA race at Infineon in Sanoma. Busy weekend.

Looks like part of Friday is a freebie open to the public.

I forgot to mention the FRS channels.

It was really busy the last few years between spectators and vendors.

San Jose Fire comm van was doing radio checks earlier today, so it looks like they
are setting up at the Convention Center.

Anybody get any PL tones or confirm the rental radio frequency use on this ?

I was too busy with other projects to listen to it at all.
