Since moving to south San Jose from north San Jose, I have been receiving pager
interference on FRS ch3 (462.6125) and GMRS 462.625. I hooked my scantenna up
to my HP spectrum analyzer and found the culprit. A paging transmitter on 462.900.
There are two spurs each side approx 143.75 kHZ and 287.5 kHz at 35 DB and 25 DB
down. The spur near 462.625 would be approx. 1/2 watt erp and the closer one around
2 watt erp, easy to copy from a transmitter only 8.9 miles away and over 3400 feet AGL.
Question, are there any 2-way commercial readers that can verify my observation and,
can you assist in stopping or talking with the proper people? I don't think the FCC cares,
I have observed this dirty pager since August 2006, and it is still there, pumping out
paging tones.
This is what I have => Metrocall, WNBK809, 462.900, 350W / 900W erp,
37 9 36.8N 121 54 27.8W.
What say anyone?
