Hello,

I have my scanner and Icecast server setup to receive the San Jose Police Department frequencies;

460.15000 Dist R, D & V (North & Airport)
460.27500 Dist N & F (West)
460.40000 Dist E, K (Downtown)
460.32500 Dist L & S (Central)
460.47500 Dist A & T (South West)
460.52500 Dist X & Y (South East)

http://75.35.153.9:8000/live.m3u or type http://75.35.153.9:8000/live on Winamp.

Let me know how it sounds and what you guys think.

Regards,

Steve

I'm driving down to Cambria this weekend and I'll be taking the scanner. Sorry.

If your IP address changes alot perhaps you should look into something like no-ip.com and set up a redirect service so you don't have to keep posting a different IP address all the time.

Just an idea.

I have the server setup through fast-serv.com, so that 2nd IP will not change anymore.

Can the mods change the IP address in the first post to avoid any confusion. Thanks.

Listening in San Jose

I live in San Jose and have been looking for an online scanner for quite a while now. I thought about it tonight when I was coming home from the store and saw a high speed chase. I missed it over scanner but am listening now. It's very clear - thanks!

I forgot you were using a RS scanner when I was looking for this thread and cooking up this response...I'll post it anyways.

Someone suggested to me (and I was going to pass it on) lengthening the delay on each channel. My feeds are running 4 or 5 seconds. Sometimes you miss some of the action, but it makes it much easier for the listener to follow an individual conversation or event.

I know the default on most scanners is 2 or 0...so I guess there's no way to fix that. The Unidens (some of them at least) allow you to change it.

Your feed, however, sounds awesome. VERY clear and easy to understand. Always good to have solid, reliable feeds. Good job.

Thank you for the kind words RolnCode3, I hope everyone enjoys the feed. I tried my best to keep the stream up 24/7 and crystal clear.

Regarding the delay on the channel; I believe the PRO-433 has a 2 second delay. I notice sometimes while listening you do miss out on some action. I guess the only solution would be reducing the amount of frequencies I’m currently monitoring… Usually during the 3rd shift the frequencies calm down and you pretty much hear the full conversation.

I have been feeding SJPD for years on scannerbuff.net (requires the free client app) on the teamspeak server, and at publicsafetyfeeds.com in Winamp. 24/7/365 dedicated feed.

I need to do some work on it this weekend, adjusting audio levels and adding
San Jose State University Police to the lineup.

Feed radio is a Vertex VX3000u commercial mobile, fed into a Behringer sound board.

It's all free BTW, and supports about 60 users between the two outputs.

I always do a special feed of the San Jose Grand Prix auto race in July as well.
