San Miguel scanning

Scanner hobbiest in San Miguel County since about 1998. Recently (about 6 months) the main "Greyhead" channel of 153.995 for Sheriff has developed a very random static/digital noise that is really annoying while scanning. I now lock out that channel until I hear part of the conversation on 158.945 then go to 153.995 to listen. No indication if the sheriff hears this noise or not.
Also, per other forum threads in the Uniden section, it sounds like my bc245xlt has limitations that won't allow me to pick up the local 800mhz for this area.

Indeed Russ, you'll need to purchase a P96 capable scanner for monitoring of the DTRS. Pro-96 has been discontinued but is a good cheap option often found on ebay and such.
