I just got a new Sangean ATS 505, is this a good radio?? I have been listening to the SSB
mode 3870 khz 75 meter band mostly...I use an insulated copper wire up 40ft in the air...running up through my decking, three levels...I do seem to get better reception on my Eton E10..Any good military frequencies that can be heard in Austin?? Thanks in advance!!

There are so many freqs linked in our Utility Monitoring Wiki that it's hard to know where to start...

http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Utility_Monitoring

The EHam reviews on the 505 seem to suggest that sensitivity is something of an issue with the 505, so perhaps it shouldn't be too surprising if the E10 outdoes it in certain respects. Once again, that Wiki article has a section reserved for reviews, and the EHam link (amongst others) is posted there. The antenna seems about right - now all you need is an understanding of propagation, and freqs, and away you go. 73s Mike
