In anticipation of the release of this new receiver in the next few months, I have started a Sangean ATS909X Yahoo group:

merlin3rd if I had the cash..I'd pre-order the ATS 909X right now!!
Do have the "super 909" with the Radiolabs modifications, and it is a great performer for what it is,
especially in sideband mode. Not bad AM DXr, too. ..and it's a handy portable.
Would like to compare the two. 909X has 'couple of features that would be welcome, but necessary??

Is it just me, or is the ATS-909X just...unattractive? I like the look of the original much more.

That was my first inpression, too. Kinda "cheapy drug-store hangin on a hook in a bubble-pack
kinda look at first sight. But when I ordered the 909 Mod , it came in a real big, long original box, and I
was "crackn' up" when I pulled the radio out, and it was only about 8" by 4" in size.
My wife said.."you paid THAT MUCH for THAT!!?? But..it did prove to be a very good radio.Still is!
