I happened across this frequency and tone recently. There is occasional radio traffic. I heard a traffic stop on Evelyn Ave with a cross of Bernardo Ave, which is in Sunnyvale, according to google maps. There was also mention of a unit returning to Mountain View.

I searched the forums and saw this could be a new tac channel in the Los Altos area (http://forums.radioreference.com/sa...discussion/207588-los-altos-pw-frequency.html). I also searched the FCC database and see Los Altos and Santa Clara County licensed for this frequency. Anyone know exactly who this could be?

It's the Palo Alto, Los Altos and Mountain View NORTAC frequency (NORTAC Radio Test (2011-06-02) - YouTube). They've been simulcasting Mountain View PD for the last week or two, presumably to do coverage testing.

Thanks for the information. Do you know what this NORTAC frequency will be used for? Don't they have BAYMACS for mutual aid already?
