I remember one year back in the 90's, I called in I was passed by and attempting to catch a signal 23 over 80 mph. It appeared to be a convertable with the top down, blacked out and displaying a single red light out the front. The jig was up when I called in the personalized plate of SANTA.

Another year, same dispatcher, I was home and called in that my neighbors were out of town and I just saw someone run out of their house carrying a sack of stuff. He jumped into an unknown type vehicle and fled eastbound. That jig was up when she asked for his physical description.

Clark County, IL does a similar thing Scover5555, they have a Dep, do a traffic stop also and run plates and locals on old St. Nick! They did a good job on theirs this year to!
