No and here' s why.

Seller will only program your radio to receive 15 talkgroups.
Between Sarasota and Charlotte you've got way more talkgroups than that.

In the future, should you want to reprogram your radio, and invariably, you will, you'll have to come up with the cash and know how, to buy software, cables and program the radio.

Stick with a good scanner, yes, they're 5 to 6 times as expensive thatn the e-Bay offering but in the long run, more useful to you.

But for what you’re wanting it probably would be a disappointment. These radios will only scan 15 channels per system which is woefully inadequate.

thanks for the replies but i'm only interested in Charlotte county right now and only need 12 talk groups.
I recently sold my SDS 100 and SDS 200 because I didn't need that capacity.
I already have astro portable CPS and the programming cable is not expensive.
this is good now to get me started while I learn to add more.

this is not correct.
multiple systems and talk groups can be added it just being limited to only 15 per channel or zone.
so once i learn the CPS I can easily add the Sarasota system the the 13 talk groups I need.

I already have astro portable CPS and the programming cable is not expensive.

Astro25 is the correct CPS for that model radio and you still require an item such as the System Key to program anything in the trunking system and personality. Any affiliations will put you on the radar for an inhibit command by the System Manager.

You should have kept one of your scanners.
