I would like to know how many people would like me to add Sarasota Police to the feed I have now?
I would most likely add it to the Sheriff side of the feed.

Hello Doug,

Hey I'm here in Sarasota too. I would like to see the City feed back, but really wouldn't like to see
it mixed with SSO. I use RR here for my feeds, but been thinking of getting a scanner for my self.
What one would be the one to get at Radio Shack that will work for the Sarasota County system?
I could then provide a separate feed here for the RR users. Also, I would want a mobile or home
unit from Radio Shack and not a handheld.
Thanks for your input on this.

Eric,

I suggest you find a used PRO-2096 or a new PRO -197 Digital trunking scanner...depends on you budget as to which way to go.

+1 On The 2096!

I can +1 to the comment on the Pro-2096. Great audio, very good sensitivity & selectivity, pretty easy to use and program. Investing into a digital scanner make sense for a lot of areas around the bay area. There is also some interesting gov traffic to listen to as well. I am copying ICE repeaters at S9 Q5 reception. Things are generally routine, but every now and then things heat up and become exciting for me on the other side of the radio wave.

Good luck & let us know how we can help.

Thanks for the information Doug.
I'm looking at getting the Pro-2096. May need some insight
on setting it up though, I'll let you know.
I also have a spare computer here and a spare port on the
router to be able to provide a stream with once I get the
scanner here going. I'll again keep all informed here on how
that's going.

Also, does the programming software and or cable come with the
Pro-2096 or does R/S have to get that as extras? I've played with
scanners for years but never messed with 800 or trunking stuff.
All my time and stuff is for analog conventional type radios.

Eric.
