Sarasota County TRS

I downloaded the Sarasota system into my BCD996XT and I get a control channel on 853.6125(Osprey), but for some reason it will not lock onto the control channel while scanning. I have it loaded as a rebanded site with the preloaded band plan settings. I am in Clearwater. Is there a custom band plan that I need?

And what kind of signal strength are you showing on the Osprey tower? I wouldn't expect for you to be able to get strong enough of a signal to lock on all the way from Clearwater. These TRS are designed for reliable performance between 20-30 miles. Clearwater is closer to 50 miles away.

I'm getting 2-3 bars...I can hear the chainsaw sound...but maybe it's not a strong enough signal to decode.

That's a pretty darn good signal from Clearwater. If that's what you're getting consistently; you should be able to lock on and decode.

Also you might want to try the North Tower as it is 10 miles closer to Clearwater, 853.7625 is major control channel.

Well I figured out what was wrong....I think it is bleed over from Pinellas P25 TRS. The next channel up is 853.625 which is a control channel for Pinellas P25.
