Sorry Bill, I'm surprised I wasn't flamed big time ( i guess there is still time.....LOL )

211 is TAC 11 Hazmat
212 is TAC 12 C & O
213 is TAC 13 Coordinators.

Sorry for the Mis-information

How did they all get the channel wrong ?

I have the recordings, and they were on TG 212 and they all said TAC-11 on every transmission.

I even think they talked to dispatch at one point.

It makes it real hard to verify TG's when there are mix-ups in the field like this.

They must have known what channel to set the knob to, but not what the designation was for the channel they were on.

They should have said TAC-12. More training is needed for the users.

Thanks

Bill

The original radio layout was Tac 11 for Hazmat, and Tac 12 for C&O. When the radios where received in the field, the two Tac assignments where reserved so Tac 11 became C&O and Tac 12 was now Haz Mat. The display on the radio for C&O appears on the display as Tac 11. This Tac is not monitored by Fire Comm or by any fire units except team members and coordinators.

So TGID 211 is TAC-12

and TGID 212 is TAC-11

And what I heard on the radio makes sense and everyone was using the right ID, the list just needs to be changed for these 2 TG's ?

I actually heard those transmissions and thought they just mis-spoke themselves.....my bad.
I was going by the original numbering layout. I will change my notes
Thanks for straightening this mess out.

Groan. I've fixed my local list. Now I just have to reprogram the scanners again.

A few minutes ago, the County conducted a bunch of pager tests for Waterford EMS. This is the first time I've ever heard Waterford's tones over the County paging channel, so the end must be near ;)

TG 8110 in the clear tonight

I heard 2G38 call end of tour tonight on 8110

Still not sure what the TG is, but this is the first time I heard it in the clear.

I wonder if Wateford EMS will be on the TAC-64 or have a new group ?

I have not seen any new TG's today.

Waterford Rescue will probably be able to use TAC-64. For general operations, though, they don't really need any special TG of their own.

8110 might be the replacement for the EDACS SP-800.

I made changes to the Sites for the system based on the following:

- The sites were not properly entered in the DB initially. Simulcast systems are always listed as a single site per zone, not as individual sites.

- By all accounts, this system appears to be a two zone simulcast system, with three sites in the North and seven sites in the South

- The Hadley (North) and Saratoga Springs (South) sites were both deleted entirely from their respective licenses.

- Edinburg, Lakeview and Lake Luzerne (WQMA469) are all part of the North zone simulcast

- 851.225, 851.4125, 852.600 and 852.850 are the four frequencies for the North simulcast. 852.9375 and 853.875 were deleted from the license and should no longer be active at any site.

- Corinth, Wilton, Ballston Spa, Barkersville and Stillwater (WQMA390) along with Halfmoon and Clifton Park (WQMA469) are all part of the South zone simulcast

- 851.1625, 851.5875, 851.650, 851.975, 852.1375, 852.225, 852.250, 852.550, 852.775, 853.1125, 853.525 and 853.7625 are the twelve main frequencies for the South simulcast, and are licensed at every South site.

- Wilton and Barkersville (South) both have three additional frequencies licensed at those two sites only: 853.1375, 853.4125 and 853.775. Whether these are actually in use or not, someone needs to verify them. Per Dave's findings in August, at least two of them were not active. It's also worth noting that these three frequencies were deleted from the other South sites, so it's possible they were intended to be deleted entirely but were missed at those two sites when the license was modified.

Based on Dave's post from August:

North Simulcast
851.2250 (not heard)
851.4125 Control
852.6000 Control
852.8500 (not heard)
852.9375 (not heard) Deleted From License
853.8750 (not heard) Deleted From License

South Simulcast
851.1625 Control
851.5875 Control
851.6500 Control
851.9750 Control
852.1375 Voice & Data
852.2250 Voice & Datah
852.2500 (not heard)
852.5500 Voice & Data
852.7750 Voice & Data
853.1125 Voice & Data
853.1375 (not heard) (Wilton and Barkersville only)
853.4125 Voice & Data (Wilton and Barkersville only)
853.5250 Voice & Data
853.7625 Voice & Data
853.7750 (not heard) (Wilton and Barkersville only)

Dave,

I have heard the Clifton Park SP units using 8211 and 8110 calling when they are ending their tour.

They call State and County, just like they do when talking to 911 dispatch.

Otherwise, I only hear encrypted transmission, rarely, on these 2 TGID's.

Thanks Chauffer6 for the updates, especially the correlation with my list, which makes keeping that up to date easier.

New TGID 6056

This TGID appeared in the log yesterday, along with four additional Saratoga Springs units.

My guess is that this is TAC-56 for Saratoga Springs.

I have been logging UID's for quite a while, and I will throw this one out there for ya.

We know the 71xxxx & 72xxxx units are Sheriff, 73xxxx & 74xxxx are EMS, 75xxxx & 76xxxx are fire, 77xxxx is highway. Now the question, I have logged several 78xxxx & 79xxxx units. Who are 78 & 79 assigned to ?

Same question here, Don. Without any audio reception here, I have no idea either.

I have noticed that a lot of them show up on Pvt calls, so maybe they are IDs for computer terminals.

I'm showing the 78xxxx units showing-up on County 911 (1111), and the 79xxxx on Fire-1 (111).
i have only seen them on these TG's.

853.4125 Voice & Data (Wilton and Barkersville only)

I'm showing 5,817 hits on this frequency as vdp, which is consistent with other active repeaters.

852.2500 (not heard)
853.1375 (not heard) (Wilton and Barkersville only)
853.7750 (not heard) (Wilton and Barkersville only)

None of these have been listed on the CCs I have heard.

Thanks, Dave.

It's interesting the way those three frequencies are only licensed at those two sites, yet 853.4125 is clearly active according to your PRO96COM hits. As for the complete lack of activity on 852.250, that's another mystery, it's definitely licensed at all South sites.

All in all it's not a big deal, I've got all the licensed frequencies listed for their respective zones. All the scanner really needs is the CC's, which your data has also identified (for the South system at least). I suspect that all four frequencies for the North system are CC capable, but it would be nice to get confirmation of that. It's certainly possible they only designated two frequencies as CC's and left the other two dedicated VC's. In fact until we know for sure either way, I should probably flag them all as Primary CC so none of them are missed by software downloading the system.

Just as a side note, I really dislike the "Alternate CC" flag. Many of these P25 and Moto systems routinely rotate the CC frequency, so it's really pointless to try to determine which one of the four is "Primary". For the purposes of programming a scanner, it's irrelevant, you should always have all CC's programmed anyway. Some people even suggest programming all known system frequencies in case the frequencies used for the CC's change entirely at some point.

At this time the active CC's are

852.600 Edinburg (Fraker Mtn)
851.650 Barkersville

These seem to be the primary CC's for these sites as far as I can tell.
