Thanks Dave. I have noticed that the primary users were investigators. I have also heard TG 1411 referred to as Sargeant's channel, and I have heard both clear and encrypted traffic there. Any luck on identifying the users of encrypted TG 120 ??

I haven't seen anyone use 120. Another original mystery TGID is 101, which also has been unused for quite some time.

I wonder if some of these were test groups that are not part of the regular lineup.

[EDIT] Did you mean 1411 or 1511? I haven't seen 1411 yet.

I have been logging UID's for quite a while, and I will throw this one out there for ya.

We know the 71xxxx & 72xxxx units are Sheriff, 73xxxx & 74xxxx are EMS, 75xxxx & 76xxxx are fire, 77xxxx is highway. Now the question, I have logged several 78xxxx & 79xxxx units. Who are 78 & 79 assigned to ?

78xxxx are assigned to New York State Police portable radios.
79xxxx are assigned to all others assigned to the system, radio repair, unassigned portables and the like

If a radio is lost or stolen, the radio can be directed to this Tac instead of bricking the radio. Lost is the only frequency the radio can operate on and is only capible of transmitting to the communications center. It is a way to try to track the radio and to have the person return it to the proper agency

Still trying to figure out the primary use for encrypted TG 120. This afternoon there was an encrypted conversation between units on TG 120. Some wouldn't show a UID #, but the two that did ID were 721900 & 721911. I know these are Sheriff Portable ID's, but these are mainly the only UID's that I have confirmed on 120, and I'm leaning toward radio repair.

Pro-197 Reception Problems

Hello,

I am having problems receiving SCTRS. I have tested the scanner on two other P25 systems, and the scanner works great. I can see the "SOLARTOWN INDUSTRIAL PARK" tower in Halfmoon from my house.

Could my receiver be overloaded? Could it be simulcast distortion? I do get some percent of signal, but it is all over the place (30%-90%, no consistency) depending on where I have the scanner and what antenna I use (I have a D3000N Discone). I have tried with and with Attn on.

Any suggestions?

I have the Pro 106 and was wondering if there is a close by digital Trunk System other than the NIMO Utility that is listed on the RR Files, that will be or is working that I should be able to receive in Montgomery County NY

You should be able to receive saratoga co trunk system. I have a pro-106 and can get it all the way to esperence.

NiMo (National Grid) is not trunked. Some of their repeaters are digital.

NYSEG is P25 trunked on VHF high band.

SCTRS on BCD996XT. In colonie

I have loaded the new system from RR and get nothing to no avail. I have even made sure the the north and south systems have the correct channels listed and that i have every CC right, but i still get no signal of findingCtlChanl on my scanner. Have tried it both base and mobile side same thing you cant any help appreciated

p25 saratoga county

go to marksscanners.com. you must reband your radio and enter p25. Just put in the 4 control channels. chose 1 site , either the north or the south. you should first scan between 851- 855 mhz , to see if your radio locks on the control channel. they are using cc#3. good luck
