Anyone know anything about Sarnia Fire Rescue's new Rig? It appears to be a quint, so i think it's replacing Engine 2 or Engine 5. I saw the crews playing with the ladder the other day.

Does anyone have any knowledge or info on the new rig?

Thanks in advance for any help.

it's might also replace the amertek (engine 4) that is housed at station 1

possible, but i dont think so. engine 4 is a reserve engine, and has tons of problems. engine 2 and 5 are old and operate on the front line, so if they replace e2 or e5 then they would use one of those rigs as reserves.

i guess ill find out as soon as they get the new rig into operation. :p

when do they get the rig into service do you know

I have no clue.....but it is sitting in Engine 4's spot in the bay at the mement. Which is odd, because I dont know why they would use a brand new piece of equipment as a reserve engine.......unless they are waiting to down grade an older apparatus to a reserve unit.

I did find out that the new rig is a Spartan chassis :) just like rescue 1.

just an update for those who care. I saw today that Sarnia Fire has received another identical Quint truck. To me this indicates that Sarnia Fire is replacing the old engine's 2 and 5. I think that Station 2 will be imminently taking their new truck into service.
