The Centennial Fireworks show celebrating Saskatchewan's 100 year anniversary is set to go tonight at 9:39 pm. The show features a 30 minute fireworks show, choreographed to music, with simultaneous shows in 13 centres across Saskatchewan.

The crews setting up and co-ordinating the fireworks shows are using the SaskTel Fleetnet system, talkgroup 14 (decimal). The crews co-ordinating the audio feeds for the shows are using talkgroup 28. There is some interesting listening here, and will probably be more interesting as showtime approaches.

Thanks Rob,

So that's who they are! I had a feeling that's who they were. I was listening to them last evening, and a guy named "Chico" is the leader of this group. I was following his LID and he was boucing in between TG's 14 and 28. They are also using I-calls quite a bit as well. Unfortunately I have no specific LID's to give you right now as I am stuck here at work. I know they are all in the 6700 to 6900 range. As of last night they were short fire works in certain locations, and half the the locations have had some sort of audio failures. So it will be interesting to see if they actually get everything pulled together and ready for tonight.

Regards,
Richster.

Chico is the owner of Rugierri Fireworks. You can see the story on the fireworks show and his picture in the Saturday Regina Leader-Post.

I watched the show in Regina at Wascana Park. It was spectacular. It sure looks like everything was pulled together. I did hear one transmission later, after the show, indicating that, somewhere at one of the shows, a bank of six inch shells didn't go off. That's too bad for that show, but the one in Regina was great.
