Is no one updating the Talkgroup page?

I am using a SDR to monitor and have seen several new talkgroups and ID's.

The one thing that confuses me is how do you get the alias for the talkgroup? I am using SDRTrunk and don't see that information.

I’m monitoring PPSTN using Unitrunker and I’ve kept the database updated. What are you seeing that isn’t in the database?

The following talkgroups

- 6272
- 3067
- 319
- 5463
- 322
- 5233
- 217
- 4646
- 5167
- 6134 Encrypted
- 1214 Encrypted RCMP?

How do you determine the alias for the talkgroups? Does Unitrunker decode things differently?

For unknown talkgroups, I look through the Unitrunker logs to see which radio id's are using the talkgroup. Then compare it to the radios on a known talkgroup. So, if I'm seeing it's always a certain city law agencies radio ids on an unknown talkgroup, I can narrow it down some.

Then, I just monitor the system and see if I can catch someone say "change to ops xx" or whatever and go from there. It's very time consuming to say the least. Especially with seldom used talkgroups.

The following talkgroups

- 6272 PROV GOVT
- 3067 some sort of police talkgroup
- 319 Saskatoon site 19 tower reg
- 5463 EMS
- 322 Kipling site 22 tower reg
- 5233 EMS
- 217 ENC Radio techs
- 4646 - Likely a local fire TG, but I haven't seen any talkgroups this high numbered for fire
- 5167 EMS
- 6134 Encrypted I believe this belongs to SGI
- 1214 Encrypted RCMP?

How do you determine the alias for the talkgroups? Does Unitrunker decode things differently?

Unitrunker doesn't determine the TG alias, it's up to you to identify... which can be difficult with encryption. You can track the radio ID's and hope they transmit in the clear. I'll send you a PM
